About Sunset Dubrovnik

Who we are

Sunset Dubrovnik is a small team running sunset boat tours from Marina Frapa, on the Lapad side of Gruž bay. Our crew has worked out of this marina since 2008, and every trip starts at our office with the yellow flag at the marina entrance.

The same crew runs island days and private charters in daylight. Sunset Dubrovnik is the evening side, with its own rules: every departure is worked out from that evening’s sunset, the groups stay small, and the price you see is the price you pay.

Why a sunset-only site

Sunset in Dubrovnik moves by almost four hours across the season, and the point where the sun meets the sea swings by more than 50 degrees. A fixed “18:30 sunset cruise” is early in June and late in October. We wanted a booking page that shows the right departure for the exact date you pick, and a timetable you can check before you travel. That is what this site is for.

The crew

Captain Marin, lead skipper

Captain Marin has run boats out of Marina Frapa since 2010 and knows this stretch of coast, from Daksa to Lokrum, in every kind of evening weather. He picks the waiting spot for each evening’s sun and wind.

• Category C skipper licence, issued by the Croatian maritime authority
• Sea-rescue certified
• Languages: Croatian and English

Every other skipper on our boats holds a Croatian skipper licence, Category B at minimum. Your skipper on the night depends on the route and the boat.

The boats

• Ayros 22: our shared sunset boat, at most 12 guests, and the bigger private boat, for groups of up to 12.
• Fisher 20: a 6-metre open speedboat for private groups of up to 6.

Every boat carries passenger liability insurance and SOLAS-standard safety equipment: CE-approved life jackets, flares, fire extinguishers, a first-aid kit and a VHF radio.
